Council to meet at Lachlan

THIS month’s meeting of the Derwent Valley Council will be held at the Lachlan Community Hall at 6.30pm this Thursday. A community forum will be held immediately before the meeting, starting at 5.45pm. The forum provides an opportunity for residents of the local area to ask questions or raise matters of concern.

The agenda for the formal meeting at 6.30pm includes a briefing by a representative of the fox eradication taskforce. Items being put before the councillors include confirmation of the new strategic plan for the municipality and a development strategy for Tynwald Park, and drafts of the new dog control policy and land use planning strategy. Approval will be sought for the second round of allocations under the council’s community grants program.

Members of the public are able to ask questions at the start of the meeting and these must be submitted in writing at last 10 minutes before the start of the meeting.
