Libs reaffirm federal candidate

Eric Hutchinson

THE Liberal Party yesterday named Eric Hutchinson as its endorsed candidate Lyons at the next federal election. “Eric Hutchinson has a strong association with the Lyons electorate both through his professional career as well as from his time as the Liberal Party’s Lyons candidate during the 2010 election,” spokesman Sam McQuestin said.

Mr Hutchinson has worked for Roberts Ltd for the last 13 years in its wool department. He sits on the board of the Brand Tasmania Council and has been involved in the development of an environmental accreditation scheme for Tasmanian farming businesses.

“I am looking forward to again getting out to meet the people of Lyons to talk about their concerns,” Mr Hutchinson said. “I am consistently hearing that Lyons residents feel let down by this Labor-Green Government. The Carbon Tax will impact Lyons residents badly and will be particularly devastating on farming businesses,” Mr Hutchinson said.
