THE Derwent Valley Concert Band is a fortnight into its European tour. The journey got off to a difficult start when 40 pieces of luggage failed to arrive in Austria with the band. Missing for two days were many of the band’s uniforms and instruments. Music director Layton Hodgetts rang in to ABC Radio from Poland earlier this week and the broadcast can be heard here. The band is being accompanied by Central Highlands mayor Deirdre Flint and singer Petronella van Tienen.
