Lindisfarne 7.7 (49) d New Norfolk 0.3 (3) at Thomson Oval, Pontville. Best – NN: Cooper Triffitt, Connor Salter, Joshua Farrow, Billy Menzie, Connor Rowbottom, Brandon Higgins. Playing in their first final ever, New Norfolk’s team found the going tough against a running Lindisfarne. The boys now need to regroup ready for the preliminary final against Sandy Bay this Sunday. Congratulations to Connor Salter on playing his 100th game.
Under 15 – 2nd Semi-Final
New Norfolk 11.17 (83) d Nth Hobart 8.3 (51) at KGV. Goals – NN: Hayden Bielleman 2, Brayden Chaplin, Jordan Eiszele, Brett Hodge, Hayden Smith, Charlie Stewart, Aaron Thorpe, Kye Tomkinson, Jacob Triffitt, Nathan Wakefield; Best – NN: Hayden Bielleman, Ryan Wakefield, Brayden Chaplin, Joshua Whitford-Marriott, Zoe Thurston, Zak Booth. After an excellent display of football at KGV, the Under 15s booked themselves a place in the grand final in two weeks’ time. The young Eagles had winners all over the big Glenorchy ground. North Hobart was shell-shocked at half time with the Eagles piling on eight goals to two. To North’s credit they didn’t give up and outscored the Eagles, six goals to two in the second half, but in the end it was New Norfolk by 32 points. Hayden Bielleman showed his speed, racking up many possesions as did backman Ryan Wakefield whose poise and balance is a pleasure to watch. Brayden Chaplin and Josh Whitford-Marriott ran all day while Zoe Thurston and Zak Booth were everywhere. Mention must be made of the great passages of play that Kye “Richo” Tomkinson was involved in – a pleasure to watch. Nathan Wakefield kicked the goal of the day while Brayden Chaplin’s was a very close second in the last quarter. Congratulations to Jahrod Locher for playing his 100th game and to Daniel Browning on his 50th. When the Under 15s play off in the grand final on August 26 it will be Josh Whitford-Marriott’s 100th game.
Under 16’s next game: New Norfolk v Nth Hobart semi-final this Sunday.
