Junior cricket looking good

WITH six junior teams taking to the field this season, the future of cricket is looking bright in the Derwent Valley. Molesworth has two Under 13 teams and one Under 15 side; Gretna has one Under 13 team and one Under 15 side; and New Norfolk has one team of Under 13s. All these junior teams play in the Cricket Tasmania Youth league.

Meanwhile, Milo Cricket for players aged 5-10 years is on again at two venues in the Derwent Valley.

  • Glenora District High School: Every Friday for eight weeks, 4 -5pm. If you wish to go along just turn up on the day or contact co-ordinator Annie McKenzie at the Glenora school on 6286 1301. Gretna Cricket Club players are helping out with this program each week.
  • Boyer Oval, New Norfolk: Every Monday for eight weeks from 5-6pm. If you wish to go along just turn up on the day or contact co-ordinator Paul Reed on 0417 404 823. This program is run by the Molesworth Cricket Club.
