REMEMBRANCE Day this Wednesday will have special significance in New Norfolk as it will include the official opening of a Centenary of Anzac Remembrance Garden and the unveiling of an information panel telling the story of the Millbrook Rise Hospital.
The Remembrance Day service will start at 10.45am at the Cenotaph in Circle St. In recognition of the Centenary of Anzac, the event will be more structured than in previous years. Wreaths will be laid and there will be addresses by New Norfolk RSL president Stephen Ball and Reverend Celia Hooker. A bugler will play The Last Post and the National Anthem will be sung.
After 11am the focus will switch to the opening of the Centenary of Anzac Remembrance Garden adjacent to the Cenotaph which has been funded by the State Government and the Derwent Valley Council.
The public is invited to attend.
