Branding project to go on show

TWO exhibitions will be held in mid-January to update community members, local businesses and tourism operators about progress in the Derwent Valley Branding Project.

The Derwent Valley Council this year awarded a $130,000 contract to Sydney-based consultants For the People for the development of a Derwent Valley brand. The agency had recently developed a branding strategy for the state’s West Coast.

Following a community consultation phase involving sessions in New Norfolk, Molesworth and Westerway last September, and on Facebook, the consultants have been developing concepts to present to the public. Originally expected to be presented this month, the public exhibitions will now take place on January 16-17.

The exhibitions, at New Norfolk and National Park, will allow people to come and go as it suits them throughout the day, along with two presentations by For the People consultants each day, discussing their concepts and a “brand toolkit” to help attract tourism and investment to the region.

The exhibitions will be held at:

Council will be hosting a community forum on Tuesday 15th September, from 6:00 – 8:00pm, at the New Norfolk RSL, the forum will be facilitated by For the People, the consultants who worked with us to develop the Derwent Valley Community Brand, and will give people an opportunity to have their say about a potential change to the Council logo.
To register to attend the forum, please go to the Community Engagement page on the Council’s website, that can be found here: https://www.derwentvalley.tas.gov.au/our-community/engagement?fbclid=IwAR222o6uAE7EJ27E6YLOcABTA9pW2ooVH2bRvwWm1xCD2ELP9_3pQqONLIk .
