Free concerts at Mt Field tomorrow

VISITORS to Mt Field National Park will be able to help write a song for the Tasmanian wilderness following a free performance by folk/pop band Belle Miners tomorrow (Tuesday).

The performance by the internationally-acclaimed group is part of a special Discovery Day at Mt Field. Activities will kick off at 10.30am with a special hour-long Belle Miners Unplugged, at the start of the Russell Falls track.

At 1pm the Canadian-Australian trio will stage a two-hour concert in the day-use area near the park entrance. Both activities are free of charge, but normal park entry fees will apply.

After the concert, visitors will be able to share their stories and observations about Mt Field to help write a verse for the Belle Miners’ song for the Tasmanian wilderness.

The concerts are part of the ongoing Discovery Ranger school-holiday program at Mt Field. There will also be walks to Russell Falls with Discovery Rangers and cultural creations with Aboriginal Discovery Rangers.

For more details visit www.parks.tas.gov.au. Activities may be cancelled in bad weather or unsafe conditions. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring sun and rain protection.
