Total Fire Ban information for today and tomorrow

JANUARY 30 and 31 have been declared Days of Total Fire Ban in the state’s south, including the Derwent Valley municipality, as well as two northern municipalities.

No fires may be lit or allowed to remain alight in the open air from 2am today until the same time on Saturday, February 1. This includes (but is not limited to) incinerators, burn-offs, campfires, fire pots, and wood-fuelled barbecues. Machinery including lawn mowers that could cause a spark, should not be used.

In New Norfolk the temperature is forecast to reach 33 degrees today and 39 degrees tomorrow, with a 60 per cent chance of late rain tomorrow.
