A COOKED breakfast will be on offer at the Lions Club of New Norfolk this Sunday to help families to get a good start to Father’s Day without the fuss of cooking at home. On offer been 8am and 10.30am, the Father’s Day Breakfast is part of the club’s return to fundraising and community events after being curtailed by COVID-19 restrictions for much of the year.
Club president Kerry Kievit is delighted that the club is getting back into fundraising and will be leading the team at the Lions Club rooms, off Humphrey St, New Norfolk, this Sunday morning. Diners will be in good hands, as Kerry has extensive experience as a breakfast cook and events caterer from her 12 years at the Seaview Inn at Stanley.
“So why not give Dad and the whole family a sumptuous treat with a special brekkie on Father’s Day. Let us do all the work,” Kerry said.
Costing $10 per person, the basic breakfast will include two eggs (poached, scrambled or fried), with bacon and toast, as well as tea or coffee, and apple or orange juice. A half-serve for smaller eaters will be available for $5. Extras, for $1 each, include sausages, tomato, hash browns, mushrooms, baked beans and hollandaise sauce.
The club will also run a raffle with the first prize being a $50 voucher from the New Norfolk Hotel. The Lions clubrooms have been set up according to a Covid Safety Plan so bookings are essential and can be made for times between 8 and 10.30am. To book, call Kerry on 0409 792 007.
