Car seized from Molesworth driver

POLICE have confiscated the car of a 19-year -old Molesworth driver in response to alleged offences on the Midland Highway last night (Saturday). Acting Sergeant Gavin Spencer of Tasmania Police said the young man’s vehicle was confiscated after he allegedly evading police at high speed on the Midland Hwy at Symmons Plains.

“At around 6.20pm, police began receiving several reports from members of the public of a black Holden Commodore sedan overtaking other road users at high speeds on the Midland Hwy,” Acting Sergeant Spencer said. “The man has had his vehicle seized for six months and has been bailed to appear in court at a later date in relation to this incident,” he said.

“If any person has information or witnessed a black Holden Commodore sedan travelling north between Ross and Longford areas of the Midland Highway on the 24th of October, please contact Launceston Police on 131 444.
