A FUNERAL procession will be held in High St, New Norfolk, at noon this Friday to pay tribute to the late Layton Hodgetts. Members of the public are invited to gather along High St to pay their respects to the former teacher, musician, and founder of the Derwent Valley Concert Band.
The band will march the length of High St, escorting the hearse as it makes its way to St Matthew’s Anglican Church where the funeral service will be held at 1pm. There will be a temporary rolling road closure during the procession.
Due to COVID-19 public health restrictions, entry to the church will be limited to Layton’s family and members of the band and choir. The service will be broadcast on the Graham Family Funerals website and it will also be screened in the St Matthew’s Church Hall and outside the church, where seats will be available.
Donations to the Cancer Council Tasmania will be accepted at the funeral service.
