THE historic upper Derwent Valley town of Hamilton will be turning it on for visitors this Sunday, with a display of locally-made quilts, dolls and bears, open gardens and a walk around the town.
The Hamilton Inn and post office, in Tarleton St, will host the display of handmade bears, dolls, quilts and other handcrafts, as well as a range of jams, biscuits and plants on sale. Devonshire teas will also be on offer at the Inn.
Hamilton Inn owner Gina Curtis said there would also be an opportunity for visitors to walk around the village, soak up the history and enjoy the beautiful parks, gardens and buildings.
The gardens open for inspection will be Arthur St, Prospect House, and Emma’s and Victoria’s cottages, between 9am and 4pm.
Hamilton is just half an hour from New Norfolk via the Lyell Highway. Visit the Hamilton Inn’s Facebook page for more information.
