Saturday: five fires in the Derwent Valley

THE Tasmania Fire Service is attending to five vegetation fires in the Derwent Valley this evening, with one at Advice level.

COLLINSVALE: A 6ha vegetation fire at Mt Hull Rd was first reported at 3.33pm and is at Advice level, with three light tankers, a heavy tanker, medium tanker and a helicopter responding. Check for updates.

COLLINSVALE: A fuel-reduction burn is being carried out at Goal Hills, Collinsvale, in an area of about 155ha. The public has been asked to stay out of the area for several days. A smoke warning has been issued in relation to this fire. Read it here.

DROMEDARY: A vegetation fire was reported at Church Rd, Dromedary, at 4.03pm. Crews are on site, working to contain and control the fire. Click here for details.

HOLLOW TREE: A fuel reduction burn is being carried out at the Pelham West Nature Reserve. This fire is about 110ha in size and will take place over several days. Click here for more information.

STRATHGORDON: A 280ha fuel reduction burn is being conducted at Serpentine Gorge, near the Gordon Dam at Strathgordon, Access to the area is restricted and the public is asked to remain well out of the burn site for several days. More information.
