Two injured in Lachlan crash

POLICE say two people were hospitalised after a car flipped over in a single-vehicle accident at Lachlan this afternoon.

“Shortly after 3pm on Sunday, police attended a single vehicle car crash on Lachlan Rd at Lachlan, which resulted in a white Commodore station wagon flipping onto its roof, and the driver being trapped in the vehicle for around 90 minutes,” aTasmania Police spokesman said.

“At the time of the crash, the vehicle contained four teenage occupants. The driver and one passenger were subsequently conveyed to hospital, while the other two passengers received treatment at the scene. The driver is suspected to have multiple fractures from the crash.

“Initial inquiries indicate the vehicle had travelled from a local park in Lachlan immediately before the crash. Anyone who observed the crash, or the vehicle immediately prior, is requested to contact New Norfolk Police or Crime Stoppers.”
