STATE Labor leader and Lyons MHA Rebecca White has named the party’s candidates for the May 1 general election, including five candidates for the local division. Lyons will be contested by the two sitting members, Ms White and Jenna Butler, along with three additional candidates.
Joining Ms White and Ms Butler on the ballot paper are Southern Midlands Councillor and deputy mayor Edwin Batt, Northern Midlands Councillor Janet Lambert, and 2018 candidate Gerard Gaffney. Mr Batt, a former magistrate, is the son of the former long-serving Labor member for Derwent in the Legislative Council, the late Charles Batt.
The State Election will be held on May 1, the same day as the Legislative Council election for the seat of Derwent.
