A POWER outage has tonight plunged half of New Norfolk and surrounding areas into darkness. Power company TasNetworks reports that it is aware of the blackout which is affecting nearly 1000 homes and is investigating the cause.
Parts of the town side of New Norfolk are without power, as are nearby Glenfern, Moogara, Mt Lloyd, Plenty and Uxbridge. The company did not offer an estimated time when power would be restored and suggested checking its website after 12.30am. Supply was lost at about 11pm.
Update: Power supplies were restored around 1.30am.
