Final Flood Warning for the River Derwent

Flood Warning Number 2: FLOODING IS NO LONGER EXPECTED ALONG RIVER OUSE AND RIVER DERWENT

River rises are occurring due to recorded rainfall but flooding is no longer expected in the River Derwent catchment, including along the River Ouse. In the 24 hours to 9 am Thursday, rainfall totals of 25-50 mm have been recorded in the upper parts of the River Derwent and River Ouse. Western parts of the catchment may receive additional rainfall totals of 2-10 mm for the remainder of Thursday and a further 15-25 mm during Friday. Significant rainfall totals are possible Sunday into Monday. Strong and dangerous flows are likely to be a hazard for coming days.

River Ouse:

Flooding is no longer expected in the River Ouse. The River Ouse at Ashton is currently at 1.18 metres and steady. The River Ouse at Ashton is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.40 m) during Thursday and Friday. No observations are currently available for the River Ouse at Ouse. The River Ouse at Ouse is expected to remain below the minor flood level (4.00 m) during Thursday and Friday.

River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:

No flooding is expected in the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is currently at 2.22 metres and steady. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is expected to remain below the minor flood level (4.10 m) during Thursday and Friday. The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is currently at 1.25 metres and steady. The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is expected to remain below the minor flood level (4.00 m) during Thursday and Friday.
