MINOR FLOODING MAY DEVELOP IN THE RIVER DERWENT CATCHMENT THURSDAY EVENING

Minor flooding may develop in the River Derwent catchment Thursday evening.

Since 9 am Wednesday, rainfall totals of 25-35 mm have been recorded in the upper River Derwent catchment. A further 5-10 mm of rainfall is forecast for Thursday.

Strong and dangerous flows are likely to be a hazard for coming days.

River Derwent above River Ouse:

River rises are occurring along the River Derwent above River Ouse.

River Ouse:

Minor flooding may occur along the River Ouse.

The River Ouse at Ashton is currently at 0.60 metres and steady. The River Ouse at Ashton may reach the minor flood level (2.40 m) Thursday evening.

No observations are currently available for the River Ouse at Ouse. The River Ouse at Ouse may reach the minor flood level (4.00 m) Thursday evening.

River Clyde:

No flooding is expected along the River Clyde.

The River Clyde at Bothwell is currently at 0.14 metres and steady. The River Clyde at Bothwell is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.00 m) during Thursday.

No observations are currently available for the River Clyde at Hamilton. The River Clyde at Hamilton is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.40 m) during Thursday.

River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:

Minor flooding may occur along the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.

The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is currently at 2.23 metres and steady. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam may reach the minor flood level (4.10 m) Thursday evening.

The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is currently at 0.90 metres and falling. The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is expected to remain below the minor flood level (4.00 m) during Thursday.
