MORE than 60 people took part in a 5km walkathon on the New Norfolk waterfront earlier today (Sunday) to raise funds and awareness of brain cancer in the national Walk4BrainCancer event. The group (pictured on the New Norfolk Esplanade) were members and friends of Freedom Health and Wellness centre at New Norfolk.
“Our team of 65 humans and six dogs walked together and raised $2784, which we are very proud of,” Freedom Health and Wellness owner Stacey Aldous said. “Two of our members’ families have been directly impacted by brain cancer and this was our motivation to take part in this event,” she said.
The funds raised support the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation.
