Reserves carrying the flag in the football finals

WITH the season now over for the New Norfolk Eagles seniors, colts and women’s teams, attention turns to the reserves side which will play Dodges Ferry at Anzac Park today (Saturday) in a must-win game to continue their finals campaign.

The New Norfolk District Football Club wishes the reserves team the best of luck and hopes to see supporters turn up in numbers to watch them in action in the first semi-final at Anzac Park, Lindisfarne, at 4.30pm today.

It was a very disappointing day on the road for the NNDFC last weekend, with losses all round. The colts, women and seniors were playing in elimination finals and the reserves were playing in a qualifying final. Unfortunately the games were spread between three grounds which made it difficult for the club’s volunteers, support staff and supporters.

The first games saw the colts playing Lindisfarne and the women playing Claremont White at Abbotsfield Park. Unfortunately, both teams were eliminated. The reserves tackled the Huonville Lions in the qualifying final at Huonville, and the seniors travelled to Lindisfarne for an elimination final against Dodges Ferry Sharks. Once again it was a disappointing day as both sides suffered losses.
