Final Flood Warning for the River Derwent

Flood Warning Number 4: FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED IN RIVER DERWENT CATCHMENT

In the 24 hours to 9:00 am Monday, rainfall totals of 1-5 mm were recorded across the River Derwent catchment. Since 9 am Monday, no significant rainfall has been recorded. No significant rainfall is forecast for the River Derwent catchment for the remainder of Monday.

Strong and dangerous flows are likely to be a hazard for the coming days.

River Derwent above River Ouse:

Flooding is no longer expected along the River Derwent above the River Ouse.

River Ouse:

Flooding is no longer expected along the River Ouse. The River Ouse at Ashton peaked at 2.35 metres around 03:30 pm Sunday 24 October and is currently at 1.72 metres and falling. The River Ouse at Ashton will remain below the minor flood level (2.40 m) during Monday.

Water level data are currently not available from Ouse. However river level data from upstream locations suggest that river levels are falling at Ouse. The River Ouse at Ouse will remain below the minor flood level (4.00 m) during Monday.

River Clyde:

Flooding is no longer expected along the River Clyde. The River Clyde at Bothwell is currently at 1.50 metres and steady. The River Clyde at Bothwell will remain below the minor flood level (2.00 m) during Monday.

Water level data are currently not available from Hamilton. However river level data from upstream locations suggest that river levels are falling at Hamilton. The River Clyde at Hamilton will remain below the minor flood level (2.40 m) during Monday.

Styx River:

Flooding is no longer expected in the Styx River.

River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:

No further flooding is expected in the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam peaked at 3.94 metres around 11pm Sunday 24 October and is currently at 2.50 metres and steady. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam will remain below the minor flood level (4.10 m) during Monday.
