Man found with multiple injuries in Andrews St, New Norfolk

POLICE are seeking information about a man receiving head injuries at New Norfolk early Tuesday morning this week. Tasmania Police spokesman Anthony Marr said a 44-year-old man had been found unresponsive in Andrews St.

“The man had a number of significant head injuries including a substantial laceration to his ear, in addition to multiple injuries to his face and skull,” Mr Marr said. “He is currently in a stable condition at the Royal Hobart Hospital and will require extensive treatment and rehabilitation in the coming weeks and months.”

“Initial investigations indicate the man was intoxicated at the time and may have been involved in confrontations with people in the Andrews St area prior to being located,” Mr Marr said.

Police are appealing to any members of the public who may have witnessed any incident involving the man or any information relating to this matter to phone Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000 or Bridgewater Criminal Investigation Branch on 131 444.
