SNOWY weather is forecast for several Derwent Valley locations over the next few days, with cold fronts due on Sunday and Monday. Snow is expected down to 200 metres on Sunday evening but the Bureau of Meteorology says it is unlikely to settle at lower elevations.
At Maydena, showers or snow are expected on Sunday and Monday, with a minimum temperature of zero on Monday. At nearby Mt Field National Park, the forecast is for showers or snow today (Saturday), followed by snow showers on Sunday and Monday, and showers or snow on Tuesday.
Temperatures have also tumbled at Mt Field, reaching a maximum of six degrees so far today (Saturday), with maximums of 3, 2 and 5 expected over the next few days. Predicted minimum temperatures at Mt Field over the next six days are below zero every day except Wednesday. A minimum of -4 is expected on Monday morning.
Possible hail and thunderstorms are forecast for the Derwent Valley on Sunday and Monday, with a high chance of showers. Showers or snow are expected at Strathgordon, Tarraleah and Bothwell on Sunday and Monday.
