This will be a seated event, involving a public award ceremony and a free concert by the Derwent Valley Concert Band. The band’s Community Winds section will perform for an hour during the two-hour celebration which will be held from 10am-noon.

The Maydena Community Association will hold its traditional fun run and walk from the Mayne St park to the Junee Cave car park and return, starting at 10am. Biscuits and drinks will be provided at the half-way point and a barbecue lunch will be held afterwards, starting around 11.30am.

Bushy Park and New Norfolk swimming pools will offer free entry for family fun between 10am and 6pm on Australia Day. Activities at the pools will include a free barbecue, a beach wear dress-up competition with prizes, as well as pool inflatables and music.
