EIGHT candidates have nominated to contest the seat of Lyons in the Federal Election which has been called for Saturday, May 21. The candidates were officially announced on Friday (April 22). In the order named by the Australia Electoral Commission, they are:

- Emma Jane GOYNE, Pauline Hanson’s One Nation
- Liz JOHNSTONE, Australian Greens
Mr Mitchell has held the seat since 2016. All candidates for Lyons are invited to send a 250-word candidate statement and photo to damian@newnorfolknews.com by April 29.
Voters will also be taking part in a half-Senate election, for which the following candidates have been named:

Perhaps some clarification. Your articles says Ray Williams is standing for the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers party, but this pages says he is running for The Australian Citizens Party:

Hi John, that link relates to the last Federal Election in 2019 when Ray was a Senate candidate for the Citizens Party. He tells me he has been able to bring some of their policies across to the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers, notably the campaign for a people’s bank.
