Family activities at New Norfolk this Easter long weekend

Family breakfast

EASTER SUNDAY: Family breakfast at the Lions Club of New Norfolk with poached or scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato, hash browns, mushrooms, baked beans, toast and sauces. Tea, coffee and juice will be included, all in the price of $15 for a full serve or $8 for a half or child’s serve. There are also vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available when making your booking. Sittings start at 8.30am with the final sitting beginning at 10.30am. This event is part of our the Kombat Kids Cancer Campaign and all proceeds will be donated to the Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation.

Easter market, egg hunt and parade

NEW NORFOLK MARKET: Celebrate Easter Saturday at the Friendliest Market in Tasmania with an Easter Egg Hunt, a visit from Easter Bunny, face painting, stalls, live music, hot food, ice cream van, and more. The market runs from 8am to 2pm in High St, New Norfolk. At 11am, children and their parents are invited to meet at Lees Corner (High St and Burnett St corner) to parade through the market and on to Arthur Square for an Easter egg hunt.

Women’s football match

BOYER OVAL: See the victorious New Norfolk Eagles women’s team take on Claremont at Boyer Oval at 10am on Good Friday, fresh from their huge win over South East Suns in the season opener.

Holy Thursday: Mass of the Last Supper, St Peter’s Church, New Norfolk, 7pm.
Good Friday: St Andrew’s Church, Bothwell, 10am; St Peter’s Church, New Norfolk, 3pm.
Holy Saturday: Easter Vigil, St Peter’s Church, New Norfolk, 7pm.
Easter Sunday: St Andrew’s Church, Bothwell, 10am; St Colman’s Church, Ellendale, 11.30am.

Maundy Thursday: Lamb Roast in the St Matthew’s Church hall, New Norfolk, followed by Holy Communion around the table. No charge but bookings essential on 0409 142 872. Followed by the stripping of the sanctuary in the church.
Good Friday: 10am services at St Matthew’s, New Norfolk, and St John the Baptist, Ouse.
Easter Sunday: 10am services at St Matthew’s, New Norfolk, and St Peter’s Church, Hamilton.

Easter Sunday: 10am, Salvation Army HQ, 79 Hamilton Rd, New Norfolk.
