First Derwent Valley Youth Easter Festival on tomorrow

THE Derwent Valley’s first Youth Easter Festival will be held on the New Norfolk Esplanade from 2.30-4.30pm tomorrow (April 2), offering free fun, games, activities and demonstrations. Presented by the Derwent Valley Family and Youth Action Network , the event will close with a colour run at the end.

The free activities will include candle-making with the Troublesmiths, Easter crafts with Kwirky Kids, and a selfie booth run by Youth Navigators. You can even create a glitter tattoo or make a badge with your own design. There will also be fun, games, activities and demonstrations from local sports and fitness clubs including Freedom Health & Wellness, GKR Karate, New Norfolk Football Club, Fitzone Kidsboxing, PCYC and D’FAT.

There will be a free sausage sizzle, an Easter Egg Hunt, information stalls and lucky door prizes announced every 10-15 minutes during the two-hour event. There will also be music including a performance from young local talent, Montana Lipscombe and much more.

A chill-out zone will be available for anyone needing a break from the activities or to make sure they have enough energy for the final activity – a colour run with a difference to close the event. Not only will you be doused with brilliant colours as you walk, there will be fun challenges along the way. Bring a white shirt for this activity.
