Brodie sets the game record for New Norfolk junior football

HISTORY was made for the New Norfolk Junior Football Club recently when Under 16.5 player Brodie Scanlon played his 134th club game and claimed the honour of the most games played on record, toppling the record held by Jake Bearman who in 2016 played his 133rd club game.

NNFJC registrar Justin Benson said Brodie was seen as one of the leaders in the U16.5 team and also played at a higher level with the New Norfolk District Football Club’s teams as time permits. “Brodie started playing in Under 8s in 2012 as an enthusiastic seven-year-old,” Justin said.

“He played with Bradley Chaplin from the beginning of his junior football career until 2021 – the same year he won a club Best and Fairest by a whopping 12 votes. Brodie is now coached by Tristan Triffett and has always been seen as one of the coaches reliable, go-to players,” he said.

“Thank you Brodie for your loyalty by playing all your junior football with the Eagles. Congratulations on becoming a record holder,” Justin said.
