Local warnings: Take care out there

NEW Norfolk High School is closed today due to flooding and police have issued warnings about several local roads in the Derwent Valley after a night of thunder, lightning and heavy rain. A further severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for today.

There is water on the road between New Norfolk and Granton and police have issued a warning for extreme caution on the Lyell Highway and Brooker Highway at Granton. There are also reports of rocks on Glenlusk Rd.

  • New Norfolk High School has closed for the day due to a greywater issue caused by flooding.
  • New Norfolk Golf Course is closed today due to flooding
  • Tynwald Park is closed due to flooding
  • May 7 New Norfolk Market is cancelled
