Minor Flood Warning for the tributaries of the lower River Derwent including Styx, Tyenna and Plenty rivers

Flood Warning Number 2: MINOR FLOODING LIKELY IN THE TRIBUTARIES OF THE LOWER RIVER DERWENT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON

Minor flooding is likely in the tributaries of the lower River Derwent including Styx River, Tyenna River and Plenty River from Friday afternoon.

Since 9am Thursday, rainfall totals of up to 100mm have been recorded in the River Derwent catchment. Further rainfall totals of up to 10mm are possible during the remainder of Friday. Strong and dangerous flows will be a hazard over coming days.

Tyenna River:

River rises are occurring along the Tyenna River.

Styx River:

Minor flooding is likely along the Styx River during Friday afternoon.

River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:

The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is likely to remain below minor flood levels. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is currently at 1.44 metres and steady. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is likely to remain below the minor flood level (4.10 m) during Friday.

The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is currently at 0.62 metres and rising. The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is expected to remain below the minor flood level (4.00 m) during Friday.

River Derwent around New Norfolk:

The River Derwent around New Norfolk is likely to remain below minor flood levels. The River Derwent at New Norfolk is currently at 0.40 metres and rising. The River Derwent at New Norfolk is likely to remain below the minor flood level (2.00 m) during Friday.
