Bellissimo! Banjo’s brings out spag-bol special

BANJO’S New Norfolk owner Robbie Iles (pictured) was the public face of launch of the Tasmanian bakery cafe chain’s latest pie creation earlier today. Hot on the heels of their previous special pies is the brand new Spag Bol Pie – but it’s only available for six weeks.

Mr Iles faced the state’s media earlier today for the official launch of this marriage of pie and spaghetti bolognese, but the new product was already on sale in his New Norfolk and Rosny bakery cafes and all the others throughout the country.

The latest Italian-themed pastry follows in the footsteps of Banjo’s previous limited-edition Lasagne and Chicken Parmigiana creations, as well as the Double Cheeseburger and Bangers and Mash pies, to give pastry-lovers across the country the best of both worlds – pie and spaghetti bolognese.

Robbie said the new pie featured angel hair spaghetti tangled with a rich and meaty bolognese sauce, cradled in Banjo’s signature pie pastry and topped with melted cheese and parsley. It sold very well in the New Norfolk store on its first day.

Banjo’s will a contest to crown one pie-lover with the title of Banjo’s Pie Minister and the prize of a year’s worth of pies. Anyone who purchases a Spag Bol Pie in-store, online or via the Banjo’s App before July 19 can enter.
