Road weather warning and sheep graziers’ alert

Road Weather Alert for the Upper Derwent Valley, Central North, North East, Central Plateau, Midlands, East Coast and South East forecast districts

Issued at 5:09pm on Friday 10 June 2022.

Icy and snow covered roads will make driving conditions dangerous overnight on Saturday and during Sunday in parts of the Central North, North East, Central Plateau, Midlands, East Coast, Upper Derwent Valley and South East forecast districts.

For information on any road closures, please contact your local council or the Police.

Warning to Sheep Graziers for the Upper Derwent Valley, North West Coast, Midlands, East Coast and South East forecast districts

Issued at 5:05pm on Friday 10 June 2022.

Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, showers and strong west to southwesterly winds are expected during Friday and Saturday. Areas likely to be affected include the Upper Derwent Valley and South East forecast districts and parts of the North West Coast, Midlands and East Coast forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

The next warning will be issued by 11pm Friday.
