Burn team shows true grit in fitness contest

MEMBERS of local business Burn Functional Fitness competed in the Grit Fitness Partner Competition in Moonah last Sunday (July 24). The 16 everyday gym-goers competed against some of the fittest in the state across five gruelling events that tested strength, endurance and mental fortitude.

The day was a great success with Jamie Hill and Rhiannon West taking out first place in their division with Josh Mason and Megan Campbell taking second and Mandy Richardson and Ellie O’Brien taking second in their division also.

But it wasn’t just the placings that were the highlight. We saw a group of people from our gym in the Derwent Valley competing against each other while also supporting each other, coaching each other and enjoying getting outside of their comfort zone.

Burn Functional Fitness isn’t a crossfit gym. The way that we train in our sessions is to have fun and give members every opportunity to become more capable and have the ability to pursue any physical activity they wish to outside of the gym. Whether that be keeping up with kids, playing sports or competing in fitness competitions.

HEAD COACH
