ANOTHER candidate has announced their intention to stand for election to the Derwent Valley Council. Brett Maryniak, of New Norfolk, will seek a position as councillor and has provided the following statement for publication.
“I understand the challenges and opportunities facing our region. We need sustainable growth complemented by appropriate infrastructure and services to ensure nobody is left behind. Councillors should be community leaders, and I will represent the Derwent Valley with integrity, pride and determination.
“I’m a media and communications professional, law student and community advocate with experience volunteering with Derwent Valley Arts, Rotary and TYGA FM. My career history and Masters in policy mean I have the skills, knowledge and networks to be an effective councillor.”
