Memorial service for the Queen

UPDATED: A public memorial service will be held at New Norfolk on Thursday, September 22, to honour the life and work of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Australia’s National Day of Mourning. The service will be hosted by the New Norfolk RSL Club in its function room in Tank St, New Norfolk.

RSL Club vice president Bernie Clifford said the service would be held at 2pm on Thursday, September 22, and it will be open to anyone wishing to acknowledge the late Queen’s life of service. The service will be conducted by the Reverend Celia Hooker of St Matthew’s Anglican Church, with speakers from the RSL.

Mr Clifford said serving and past members of the defence forces and emergency services were particularly welcome to attend but the service is open to all. Medals may be worn. The service will be followed by an informal gathering and light refreshments.
