ABOUT 100 people attended yesterday’s Memorial Service to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, held at the New Norfolk RSL Club on Australia’s National Day of Mourning. RSL vice-president Bernie Clifford was master of ceremonies and the service was conducted by the Reverend Celia Hooker. Barry Quinn from RSL Tasmania and Derwent Valley Council mayor Michelle Dracoulis also spoke,. John O’Carroll from the Derwent Valley Concert Band sounded the last post and his band-mate Marinda Trembath sang the Royal Anthem and National Anthem. Piper Randall Smith from the Derwent Scottish Pipe Band also had a prominent role. Mr Clifford (pictured above with Mrs Hooker) thanked Graham Family Funerals for producing and printing the order of service for the event.
