Flood Watch for the North West, North, North East, Derwent and Coal Catchments

RENEWED RIVER LEVEL RISES ARE EXPECTED AND MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING IS LIKELY FROM LATE FRIDAY
Moderate rainfall will develop across northern Tasmania during Friday, with the heaviest rainfall expected Friday evening and during Saturday. Showers and possible thunderstorms are likely to continue across the state during Saturday, especially across the eastern half of Tasmania.
Additional rainfall is possible particularly across the northern and eastern halves of the state for early next week.
Catchments are wet and rivers will respond rapidly to rainfall.
Rainfall totals through to Saturday midnight are likely to be in the range of 70-100 mm about elevated parts of the northwest, 30-80 mm about elevated parts of the northeast, and 15-30 mm generally. Isolated heavier falls are possible, particularly about higher ground.
Renewed river level rises are expected and minor to moderate flooding is likely from late Friday.
Localised flooding is possible in small creeks and low lying areas in locations that receive heavy rainfall.

- South Esk River
- Meander River
- Macquarie River
- East Coastal Rivers (north of Bicheno)
- Ringarooma River
- North Coastal Rivers
- Mersey River
- Forth River
- Northwest and Central Coastal Rivers
- Arthur River
- Derwent River
- Jordan River
- Coal River
