Final Flood Warning for the River Derwent and for the River Ouse and River Clyde

Issued at 11:31 am EDT on Monday 31 October 2022

Flood Warning Number 5: MINOR FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED ALONG RIVER OUSE AND CLYDE

Minor flooding is no longer expected along the River Ouse and River Clyde.

Increases in river levels produced by rainfall overnight Sunday into Monday are expected to remain below minor flood levels. No further significant rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Monday and Tuesday.

River levels are elevated following recent rainfall and strong and dangerous flows will be a hazard for the next few days.

River Ouse:

Flooding is no longer expected in the River Ouse.

The River Ouse at Ashton is currently at 1.22 metres and steady. The River Ouse at Ashton is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.40 m).

The River Ouse at 3B Weir is currently at 1.00 metres and steady. The River Ouse at 3B Weir is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.00 m).

River Clyde:

Flooding is no longer expected in the River Clyde.

The River Clyde at Bothwell is currently at 1.35 metres and steady. The River Clyde at Bothwell is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.00 m).

No river level observations are currently available for the Clyde River at Hamilton. However, river levels are likely to be now below the minor flood level and steady. The River Clyde at Hamilton is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.40 m) during Monday.

River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:

Flooding is no longer expected along the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.

The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is currently at 2.33 metres and steady. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is expected to remain below the minor flood level (4.10 m).
