for the River Ouse from Thursday evening

MINOR FLOODING LIKELY TO DEVELOP IN THE RIVER OUSE FROM THURSDAY EVENING

Rainfall totals of 30-80 mm in have been observed in northern parts of the Derwent catchment around elevated areas, with isolated totals up to 160 mm recorded around Great Lake. Further widespread rainfall totals of 70-120 mm are likely across the northern half of Tasmania with isolated totals up to 200 mm over higher terrain during Thursday and into Friday morning.

Strong river level rises are expected along the River Ouse during Thursday with minor flooding likely at Ashton from Thursday evening and at 3B Weir from Friday morning. With higher scenarios of forecast rainfall, additional river rises and more significant flooding is possible.

Strong and dangerous flows are likely to be be a hazard over coming days.

River Ouse:

Minor flooding is likely along the River Ouse, based on forecast rainfall.

The River Ouse at Ashton is currently at 0.37 metres and steady. The River Ouse at Ashton is likely to exceed the minor flood level (2.40 m) from Thursday evening. Additional rises are possible.

The River Ouse at 3B Weir is currently at 0.63 metres and steady. The River Ouse at Ouse may exceed the minor flood level (3.00 m) Friday morning. Additional rises are possible.
