MINOR FLOODING IS CONTINUING TO EASE IN THE RIVER OUSE

A MINOR FLOODING PEAK OF 5.60 METRES WAS RECORDED AT MEADOWBANK DAM IN THE RIVER DERWENT FRIDAY AFTERNOON

Minor flooding is continuing to ease along the River Ouse. Minor flooding is occurring at the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.

In the 24 hours to 12:00 pm Friday, widespread rainfall totals of 50-200 mm have been observed in northern parts of the Derwent catchment around elevated areas, with an isolated total up to 300 mm recorded around Great Lake. No significant rainfall has been recorded since 12:00 pm or is forecast for the remainder of Friday or into Saturday.

Strong and dangerous flows are likely to be be a hazard over coming days.

River Ouse:

Minor flooding is occurring along the River Ouse.

The River Ouse at Ashton is currently at 2.81 metres and falling. The River Ouse at Ashton is likely to fall below the minor flood level (2.40 m) Saturday morning.

The River Ouse at 3B Weir peaked at 4.10 metres around 11:15 am Friday 14 October and is currently at 3.06 metres and falling. The River Ouse at Ouse is likely to fall below the minor flood level (3.00 m) overnight Friday into Saturday.

River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:

Minor flooding is occurring along the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam peaked at 5.60 metres around 04:15 pm Friday 14 October and is currently at 4.13 metres and rising. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is likely to remain around the minor flood level (4.10 m) overnight Friday into Saturday.
