Ouse threat downgraded to Advice level

A Flood Advice – Reduced Threat has been issued for Ouse and surrounds by Tasmania SES. The Bureau of Meteorology has issued that no further flooding is expected in the River Ouse.

Locations likely to be impacted are: Ouse and surrounds. SES advises people in these areas that river levels are now falling and are expected to continue falling and that the threat of further flooding has now passed.

Although the threat of further flooding has eased, dangerous conditions and the impacts of flooding for people in Ouse and surrounds may remain.

What to do:

If you live in Ouse and surrounds, SES advises:

  • Do not attempt to drive through flood waters
  • Continue to monitor local conditions and stay alert to dangerous conditions caused by flooding.
  • If your property has been flooded and you are returning home, check for building damage before you enter. Have all electrical and gas equipment professionally tested before use.
  • When cleaning property/equipment affected by flooding, wear protective shoes and clothing, and wash your hands and clothes regularly.
