Minor Flood Warning for the River Derwent including for the River Clyde

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING ALONG THE RIVER CLYDE AT HAMILTON AND POSSIBLE ALONG RIVER DERWENT AT BELOW MEADOWBANK DAM OVERNIGHT SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY

RENEWED RIVER RISES IN THE UPPER DERWENT TRIBUTARIES POSSIBLE FROM MONDAY WITH FORECAST RAINFALL

Minor flooding is likely to be occurring along the River Clyde at Hamilton. Minor flooding is possible along the River Derwent at below Meadowbank Dam overnight Saturday into Sunday.

Further rainfall is forecast for parts of the River Derwent catchment from early Monday, which may cause renewed river rises in the upper Derwent tributaries from Monday.

River Clyde:

Minor flooding is likely to be occurring along the River Clyde.

No river level observations are currently available for the Clyde River at Hamilton. However, river levels are likely to be above the minor flood level and steady. The River Clyde at Hamilton may fall below the minor flood level (2.40 m) Saturday evening.

River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:

Minor flooding may occur along the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.

The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is currently at 3.27 metres and steady. The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam may reach the minor flood level (4.10 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday.
