Helping the Salvos to provide support at Christmas

LIONS Club of New Norfolk president Kerry Kievit yesterday presented children’s gifts from club members to Captain Tim Size at the Derwent Valley Salvation Army Corps.

“We discovered that this year more than ever the Salvos need our help to support those who are doing it tough in our community at Christmas,” Kerry said. “They especially need gifts that would be suitable for teenage boys and girls especially sporting items such as footballs, badminton sets, basketballs, games, etc.”

The Lions Club asks other clubs, businesses and individuals to follow their lead and make a donation or contribution to the Salvos. “If you can lend a hand, please drop unwrapped gifts to the Salvos in Hamilton Rd, New Norfolk as soon as you can,” Kerry said.

Gifts can also be left at the giving tree in the New Norfolk Amcal Pharmacy in High St.
