Safety Advice
- Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
- Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
- Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
- If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.

Weather Situation
Maximum temperatures in the mid to high twenties are expected over coming days, peaking in the low to mid-30s away from coastal areas on Tuesday. Minimum temperatures are expected to be in the low to mid teens, increasing to the high teens to around 20 degrees Tuesday night. Severe heatwave conditions are expected to ease following a cool change mid-week.
Locations likely to be impacted include Brighton, Bothwell, Cygnet, Geeveston, Launceston, New Norfolk, Oatlands, Ouse, Richmond and Sorell.
The next heatwave warning will be issued by 3pm on Monday 26 December 2022
