Missing man’s body recovered at New Norfolk

POLICE have this morning confirmed the recovery of human remains at New Norfolk last night (Sunday), in a car registered to Dale Nicholson who was reported missing in 2016. “Formal identification is yet to occur,” a Tasmania Police spokesperson told New Norfolk and Derwent Valley News. “A report will be prepared for the coroner.”

A major emergency services operation was carried out near the New Norfolk Olympic Swimming Pool last night after private searchers located a car in the River Derwent nearby.

Mr Nicholson was last seen leaving his home address in New Norfolk, December 11, 2016, around 8:30 am, on his usual morning trip to buy the newspaper and some breakfast. He left home in his blue 1993 Ford Fairmont sedan and did not return home.

Condolences to family and friends.
