A FUN night of dancing will be held at the New Norfolk War Memorial Hall this Friday (February 3) as a fundraiser for the Derwent Valley Relay for Life. The Freedom Crew relay team has extended an invitation for all to join in this night of fun with zumba, line dancing and hip hop, to name just a few.
“You can join in with all of the dances, pick a few to participate in, or just come along and support us,” spokesperson Stacey Aldous said. “You might even win a spot prize! We want everyone to come along and have a fun night out with us,” she said. “It’s all about having fun, moving our bodies and raising some money… not about if you can keep in time with music – this event is for everyone. Wear something purple if you can,” Stacey said.
Freedom Crew is the Freedom Health & Wellness team entered in the Derwent Valley Relay for Life which will be held at Tynwald Park, New Norfolk, from February 11-12. Dubbed “The Derwent Valley Dances for Cancer,” this Friday’s dance night is a major fundraiser for the relay, which supports cancer research and services.
The dance event on February 3 starts at 6.30pm in the War Memorial Hall in Circle St, New Norfolk. Each of the dance tracks will be instructed by trainers from Freedom Health & Wellness trainers. “The class will go for an hour, but you can do a dance, then have a rest, do another dance, or you can join in for all the dances!” Stacey said.
