A SMOKE alert was issued during a grassfire near the railway line opposite the junction of Boyer Rd and Millvale Rd at Dromedary yesterday evening (Tuesday). Police and the Tasmania Fire Service were at the scene from about 6.30pm.
Motorists were asked to drive carefully due to the amount of smoke in the area from the fires, and if possible completely avoid the area. At 8.30pm police announced that the smoke had cleared and the area would be monitored by emergency services overnight.
