New Norfolk men charged over Howrah burglary

THREE New Norfolk men have been charged with several offences after police intercepted them allegedly leaving the scene of a burglary in Howrah this morning. “Around 6am, police received information regarding a vehicle leaving Fermoy Crescent where a house under construction had been burgled. Police attended and located the vehicle and arrested the occupants,” a Tasmania Police spokesperson said.

“A 51-year-old man and 38-year-old man, both from New Norfolk, have been charged with burglary and stealing, and bailed to appear before the Court at a later date. A 33-year-old man from New Norfolk was charged with burglary and stealing. He was detained to appear before the court tonight,” the spokesperson said.

“As part of the investigation, detectives from Bellerive CIB conducted several searches in the New Norfolk area which resulted in property stolen from Howrah being recovered. Anyone with information relating to burglary or suspicious activity in the area around the time is asked to contact police on 131 444 or report to crimestopperstas.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
