WITH cricket into finals and the AFL season rapidly approaching, the New Norfolk Junior Football Club is in full preparation mode for the upcoming season. The NNJFC will again run Auskick and junior teams in mixed (juniors), male and female (older groups) competitions ranging from Under 8s through to U16.5 for the boys and Under 18s for the girls.
All teams are currently training and seeking more players for the upcoming season and now is the time for any new or returning players to come to training, get to know the coaches and the team players in each team. Teams train at various times across weekday evenings and most games are played on a Sunday with the occasional Friday night games under lights in some rosters.
The NNJFC is currently investing heavily in the coaches at the club and making sure our coaches are delivering fair, fun environments to their players whilst following the AFL coaching curriculum to give the players good solid football skills and foundations.
The NNJFC has been fortunate in recent years to benefit from developments at Tynwald Park oval with new goal posts, coaches boxes and not to forget the awesome facility shared with the New Norfolk Cricket Club that now provides dedicated male, female and umpires separate change rooms and facilities. Work has also began this week on the installation of a new score board.
Its no doubt an exciting time to be part of the New Norfolk Junior football club and the club welcomes all new and returning players no matter their gender or ability as everyone will be supported to enjoy AFL football in a fun environment. Payment plans are available for player registrations and the club is an authorised Ticket to Play provider.
